 The surfaces of Atris's academy sparkled as the light fell upon it.  Everything was dark, with only faint blue light seeping through the skylights to illuminate the place.  The breath of the four figures rose like clouds of smoke in the night.  Everything was still and cold, untouched and frozen in place. They moved silently through the academy until they reached the council chamber.  Their lights illuminated the huddled white figures on the floor, Atris's handmaidens, perfectly preserved in the cold, their pale skin and empty blue eyes gleaming in the light.

The Exile's past rears its ugly head and he is forced to tackle it, leading to a confrontation with Kreia that ultimately leaves him with...nothing.

Every cell on the back of his neck stood up. He sprung around and pointed the blaster to the darkness. Very slowly, a humming sound gradually echoing through the tunnel.

A remote.

 "What the....!" He cursed under his breath.

He had even gone through all the trouble of feeding Casus to the kath hounds so that he would have something substantial to blame Ahlan for...

During a restless night on Taris Carth remembers his reasons for becoming a Republic soldier with the help of a few kind strangers.

Wherin the Exile returns home to the waiting arms of his beloved Visas and their daughter.

Carth and Gia-Sade crash on Taris. While they receive aid from a compassionate stranger a little mystery about an ordinary scout is revealed.

"So let us wait here." G0-T0 went on. "You and I, for the General's orders, and calculate the probable fate of the galaxy."

"The Mandalorian Crusade is drawing to an end, master." The figure hissed to the darkness. Revan crept closer still, trying to see who else was in the room; it was empty but for the black robed figure. But a voice issued in response, a voice that echoed in his mind.

"As we knew it must," the voice, harsh and cold, responded, "but never did we foresee they would be so successful in their war. The Republic is weak indeed."
