Blind Justice

Ooh now there's a cool idea :)

Whoa now that's neat. I like monochromatic pictures, especially cool blue, gives everything a serious feeling. The shading is excellent, especially in the clothes an on her face. I find it difficult to do lips in one color but you didn't seem to have a problem. I wish the name Visas Marr was a bit to the left, it's kind of falling off the side there, but that's more of a style choice. Great work, I hope to see lots more like this. :)

Thanks, I'm glad you liked

Thanks, I'm glad you liked it! I'm a relative beginner when it comes to showing my artwork so any encouragement or helpful hints that I can get are always extremely appreciated.

I absolutely agree with you on the lettering, which is actually the result of poor scanning of the original sketch on my part. Poor Visas never gets a break. ;)

Interesting.

I like the idea, and it's a good pic. But... interestingly, her hands are cut off.

Okay you got me, I have no idea what movie this is a take on.

You got some good shading detail here. And I like the design you did on the edges of the hood.

But you have to be careful with shading. I can see on the left side of her face, you had the shading go in a bit too far, signifying a rather gaunt face, but on the other side it doesn't go in as far. Thus creating a distacting imbalance. And I do see other, less complicated problems. The elbow joint on her right arm should be a bit more defined. The way I see it right now, it curves too smoothly. Or perhaps there is some line detail there that I can't see. And the sash around her waist seems to be too loose in the front, but that's just me being picky. Just one more wee problem; the trident on top of the scale thing's right point is, for one too transparent and another not curved enough.

But still, this is a good Visas piece. The general blue color scheme was an interesting touch. And I also like the word font

"Respect is a funny thing, people always seem to think they deserve it, but the truth is respect is something you have to earn."

Heh, it's just supposed to

Heh, it's just supposed to be like a movie poster in the way it's set up with the lettering, the super dramatic, almost silly portrait and the pun-ny caption, "Justice is blind". I'm sure there's an actual movie that does something like this though.

I agree with your analysis of the proportion issues..One clarification: the imbalance in the facial lighting was actually intended, if not perfectly executed. I wanted to divide the piece into Light Side vs. Dark Side, with Visas weighing the possibilities. Thus, the face has been altered slightly with shading to reflect this. I may not have conveyed this as well in the actual drawing, but I swear there was totally a rationale for that one. ;)

This is very good! I like

This is very good! I like the way you did the blue color scheme, especially since Visas is always wearing her reddish and blackish armor. And I love the detail on that very armor! But one thing- she looks like Kreia in Visas' clothes a little bit, because she looks really old compared to in the game, and as Rainpool said, her hands are cut off. =) But it's still good! Keep drawing!

PS- What's that thing behind her?

Only mindless people can hate Carth, Atton, Anakin, or the Master Chief. I am not mindless, and therefore, a fangirl.

Thank you...Haha, a

Thank you...

Haha, a confession: the page ended and so her hands didn't make it to the show. That's not a great reason, but I'm a weekend scribbler and I get lazy sometimes.

I kind of wanted her to look a bit haggard actually. In the game, she looks so healthy and milk-fed which never really matches her persona as messed-up, masochistic Sith babe. I didn't notice the resemblance to Kreia, but that's kind of funny...I've been writing old witchy-poo a lot in my fic so maybe she's infecting my brain.

The thing behind her is supposed to be a rather elaborate set of scales. They aren't used much in developed countries anymore, but they still are supposed to symbolize justice being weighed and measured out. This works in line with the idea of a blind-folded 'Justice' who isn't supposed to perceive anything but the truth. I originally put this together with the idea that I would write a story about Visas being involved a trial against some genocidal Sith post-KOTOR2, but that's gone to the back of the shelf for now.

Wow!   Absolutely

Wow!   Absolutely beautiful art of Visas indeed!  I love it!  :)
