Update: We're a bit light on entries (especially art entries), so I'm extending the deadline one week until July 14th at 5 pm EST.
Announcing Official Dueling Circle Challenge #35: Culture Clash
What's this all about?
An art or fiction submission featuring two or more characters in conflict due to the background culture they come from. This is more than just a generic argument between two characters and should focus on the differences between the ideas and values of the cultural views in conflict. Examples of this include (but are not limited to) Jedi values vs. Sith values or Mandalorian culture vs Wookiee culture, Czerka corporate goals vs the Exchange goals.
What's the deadline?
July 7th at 5 pm Eastern Standard Time, although this is always subject to extension depending on the number of submissions on that date.

All you'd have to do is take something the something strange the various Star Wars' civilisations take for granted and highlight how weird it is by having someone outside said civilisation comment on it. So you could draw attention to the fact that Mandorians don't seem to ever get out of the armour to answer calls of nature. There's thousands of possiblities, that one would just work visually as well as on the page.
Of course, no one could really use that one now... >:)

I think the artwork could also be symbolic. You could also have Star Wars pulp-style montages of Revan with his/her two different backgrounds clashing, for instance. Oops, did I give yet another one away?

I'm new to the site, and this is my first Dueling Circle submission. I'm confused as to where to attach the summary for my fic. Is it supposed to be in place of the teaser? I know the answer must be really obvious, but it's late at night so... yeah. I'm totally confused. Help?
