Right At Home

Mira

To be honest, thanks to my Dark Side nature, I was going to make Mira died.

But hey, this is Christmas/New Year DCC special we are talking about. We don't make people died at the time like this, don't we? So I picked the next alternative.

Despite all the training, Mira was still very glad to be back home.

Mira was done in colour pencil, all others were in black and white.

I'm not sure if this is just

I'm not sure if this is just my pc acting up again (it is a finicky thing) but it looks like you've got a thumbnail but no link to the actual enlarged picture?

Done.

Everyone, there should be no problems viewing the bigger pic now (something playing funny the last time I tried, it wouldn't let me).

Thanks

Tank

Not your PC

I'm very intregued but I can't open it either.

I am having the same prob, the art looks like it can enlarge but when I
try to scroll over the art it doesn't show the ability to enlarge the
art so I can see it better for some strange reason, when you can please
fix this soon.  :)  Thanks.

Ok, now I can see it enlarge

Ok, now I can see it enlarge now which is good and as for the
art:  It looks very nice indeed,  I like it a
lot!   very nice art of Mira!  :)

Great as always!

This story happened a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. But it is also happening right now as you read these words.

I like that you did Mira in color and the others in B/W--glad you didn't have her dead, you darksider you!

Yeah

I was so glad to see the link fixed.  This is a terrific.  I like that she is in color.  It helps bring out the look on her face that yes, she is glad to be home.  I also love the eyes, very expressive.

Great job as usual.

Hooray!

Gosh, I had really wanted to see this. . .and now I can!

I love all the detail you put into this piece, the contrast between the b/w and the color, and that little half-smile Mira's wearing.  She looks very content to be back home.  Great job!

My Challenge

I was the one who specifically requested this, as bland of a challenge as it is. Though I was hoping for fiction (just my preference) I'm pleased with the way the picture turned out, particularly, as others have mentioned the contrast between color and black and white.

I like also how Nar Shaddaa, in spite of all its evils, has grown enough on Mira that she still appreciates returning there, even with her Jedi training and all. It seems like her.

Good work and thanks for the entry.

Haha, I love this.

Haha, I love this. Particularly the use of color for Mira to put her in opposition to the others. Like she's the light in the darkness that is Nar Shaddaa. Excellent work as usual. :)

Pretty

The details of the lines hold up well in the large image size, though the pencil coloring looks rough up close. It’s stylish though, and the gray tones definitely do the job of contrasting with her colors. What does the coloring of Mira represent? Her joy at coming home? Her singular nature? It draws my eyes in, sure, but why the redundancy of placing her in the center of the composition and coloring her in? What’s the intent in making her the center of attention, and specifically how does that enhance the idea of being comfortable at home? (I would think the attention would be uncomfortable.) Thanks for sharing!

Cheers,

I don't normally think that much when I draw.

I just thought Mira came back to Nar Shaadar a different person, so I put a bit of colour on her. She got a bit of smile on her face, as if she was mumbling :"Now this is much better!"

I still need a lot of practice on colour, as you had pointed out, it is not as good as my b/w one.

I think you ’re good enough that you should :)

Definitely want to see more color art from you, please take it to the next level! Every time you submit something new, I can see the improvements. Your figures are becoming more fluid, and the faces are already quite good. Please continue to improve and supply us with pictures!

Favourite face

I think this might be quite one of my favourite pieces from you, TG! There's something about Mira's I-know-something smile that's very compelling.
