Female Revan

Every time I use the Paint program I get frustrated. I tell myself "I'm never going to use this again!" And yet, every time, a few weeks or a month later I come crawling back...

Please excuse my inability to draw humans well. I'd love to blame Paint and my mouse, but I know that's not entirely fair.

First, my version of Revan in KotOR-style robes, complete with those little shoulderpads and that flap between the legs. I'm not too displeased with how it came out - I'd like to have done better, but I think this conveys the general concept I had in mind. My version is kind of androgynous. Her skin should be darker... oh well. It's really hard to find good-looking skin tones on Paint. It always gets too orange.

Robe

I made this version a year or so ago. I really like the way the hood turned out, although the figure on the right... ehh. This is either two images of Revan - why is maskless version so scarred? I don't remember - or Revan next to a Mandalorian who claims to be related somehow.

Mask

So, yeah. Both versions say "I am Revan" in Aurebesh, the Star Wars alphabet. I think I'm getting better at this Paint thing...

This is just a little something related to my stories in the Xanadu universe, where all the costumes at a large convention became real. Redsaber 5(please excuse the poor letering) is a thinly-veiled analogue of me - so technically, this is Revan. Mixed with a self-portrait. I seem to use myself as a reference a lot... Well, as far as I know mine is the only Phillippino -esque Revan out there, so why not?

I made this one in a couple of hours between classes.  I can't seem to get the hood rigt, but I like the eyes.  I'm considering making this into my userimage...  It's a thought.  Anyway, my Daritha Revan is the emotionless type.  She's not wearing a mask - you may wish to start running now.  :P

Maskless

And here we have a somewhat older Revan, brooding, deep in thought. Over what she plans to do in the Unknown Regions, over her identity, over what has changed in the ten years that she has been missing... over why service in this restaurant is so damned slow... over why the heck her hair is red... over what I did to her nose, and what made those marks on her face... you decide. I attempted perspective here, which explains why her right hand is so huge, but that doesn't explain the fingers of her left hand. Well, you know what they say about practice.

Finally, Juhani, as the Aurebesh label reads. At least, she looks a bit like a young Juhani. If you squint. Maybe I should stick with Revan and dragons...

... Faces are evil, paricularly noses, lips, and eyes. So is hair. Hands, too... Why do I keep trying to draw them again? Because I'm getting better. Someday, I'll buy a tablet.

Suggestions and constructive critisism would be welcome.

Heh. You did better with

Heh. You did better with paint than I did with colored pencils and a scanner. Noses, are really, really evil. I just didn't even bother all that much. Go job with what is possibly one of the most labor-intesive and spastic programs out there.

Wow, you did a great job

Wow, you did a great job with paint considering it is a very annoying thing to create art on. They're pretty good, except 1) juhani's head is a bit oddly shaped, and 2) those lines of light look out of place, so you might want to do them a shade darker or in better locations.

then again, i'm not an art critique so i don't really know too much.

The folds on her clothing are pretty good (especially on the purple hood of the fpurth one) and.. yeah. You've done a great job with shadows, but on Paint I find that if you move your skin colour slightly more greyish, it looks good.

so, you've done much better then i ever could, lol
