It Came From Nar Shadda: Chapter 6

Qwert lay on the floor, she concentrated whole on the gaping hole in her torso. She quickly injected a pack of kolto. She lied very still, waiting for her body to heal itself, hoping that everything was still going according to plan despite her injury.

'According to plan...who am I kidding?' She opened he eye just in time to see her former master's bounty hunter raise a blaster to Sasha's head. It was Qwert's turn to act. She and Sasha had planned for this day.

Summoning all of her energy, Qwert suddenly leapt to her feet just as the bounty hunter began to pull the trigger. She screamed and the hunter quickly turned around. Sasha leapt to her feet as well and jumped on the bounty hunter's back. Her weight alone was not enough to hinder the bounty hunters progress; she served mainly as a distraction while Qwert searched for some sort of weapon.

Qwert then ran over to Dustil, who still could not move. She, without asking removed his lightsaber from his belt. Dustil was not happy about this, but was glad to see Qwert up and moving...he only hoped she didn't find out how to activate the saber.

She did. A green beam of light appeared, Qwert looked at the bounty hunter, then at Dustil (who was trying to scream at her to turn it off), then back at the bounty hunter. The green beam of light disappeared and Qwert, without missing a beat, rushed at the hunter and, just as Sasha was being thrown from his back. Qwert sailed through the air, flipping once in mid air, and cracked the back of the man's skull with the hilt of Dustil's lightsaber. Both the hunter and Sasha hit the ground at the same time; only Sasha, however was the only one to rise from the blood stained floor of the cantina.

Qwert walked over and asked if Sasha was alright. Then, after she had returned Dustil's lightsaber to its proper place, Qwert crumpled to the floor.

Dustil found he could move again and instantly knelt down beside Qwert. He placed a hand on her wounded abdomen and tried to summon the force to heal her.

After he couldn't heal her in this manner, he knew she would need kolto. 'We've got to get her to the hangar.' Dustil said to Sasha as he scooped Qwert up into his arms.

'Shouldn't we get her to a medical center?'

'Didn't I mention something about there being a shipload of kolto in the hangar? But if there is a doctor on this force-forsaken planet who's hands you would trust her in...'

'Fine! Let's go! But if she dies...'

'I won't live long enough to regret it! I know.'

They two ran for the door, but Sasha stopped and ran back to where the bounty hunter lay bleeding on the floor. The other patrons shrinking away as she approached.

'What are you doing?' Dustil called in despair from the door, still holding a dying Qwert in his arms.

'I forgot my blaster!'

'It's just a blaster!'

'No it isn't!' She screamed, searching untiringly for the spot where the gun had landed. 'You go take care of Qwert! You wouldn't understand all I and this blaster have been through.'

'I can't say I would, seeing as how you would be willing to look for it instead of saving your best friend!'

Sasha sighed, tears welling in her eyes; she stood and nodded at Dustil. They both ran out the door and down the dimly lit streets of Nar Shaddaa.

---------------

Many hours later, Dustil had Qwert in a stable condition. He reached down and shook Sasha, who had fallen asleep a few hours previously at the foot of the bunk.

'Huh? Sasha's eyes fluttered open, 'Is...is Qwert awake?'

'No but she will be fine. You need to get some sleep.'

'I can stay awake for another couple of hours.'

'That's what you said a couple of hours ago, right before you went to sleep on me.' Dustil smiled and cocked an eyebrow.

'Maybe a few minutes wouldn't hurt.' Sasha reasoned. Dustil pointed her in the direction of the dormitory and closed the door behind her. He turned to where Qwert lay beneath a sheet. Sasha had stripped her of her jumpsuit and Dustil had replaced it with an old robe of his, but Sasha insisted that they leave her mask where it was. When Dustil told her that it might hinder her breathing, Sasha threatened to hinder his breathing if he so much as looked like he was going to remove it.

Dustil, remembering the day's earlier events, decided not to press the matter while Sasha was there. But Sasha wasn't there now. He crept to Qwert's side and gently began to pull the mask away from her face. She wasn't exceptionally beautiful, but then again she was unconscious. She had peculiarly pale skin that had a supernatural glow in the pale light of the Seedling's med bay. He dimmed the lights further, and reached up to examine one of her eyes, he raised her eyelid, and her pupils grew smaller, revealing blue, glazed eyes that had a hint of yellow emanating from the pupil. He hadn't seen eyes like hers since...

'Korriban!' Dustil said aloud.

Qwert's eyes shot open. Dustil stared right back at her. 'Glad to see you're awake.' he said, standing swiftly, 'I have some questions for you.'

So Qwert is someone from Korriban... This is great! I am looking forward to the next one! *grins*

Muahahaha!

I'm SO sorry it took forever to get to this! It was lost amid all the other fics I missed. Interesting! Qwert the Sith girl? Hm. And the story of Sasha's blaster? Or is it just a blaster she loves? And why couldn't Dustil heal her? That seemed odd (maybe inexperience, though). And could Qwert hear him mentally screaming not to turn the lightsaber on? I think it's possible...hm.

The first half seemed a little rushed and sparse in detail. I can't stand writing fights, and it may be that you suffer the same malady, though.

:D Can't WAIT to see what happens next. I hope you haven't given up on it. It certainly should be interesting to see what Dustil does.

Omen of things to come.

Sorry this is taking so long. Originaly there where two plots that could stem from this beginning. I picked which one I was going to follow a long time ago. Now I need to make it transition as smoothly as possible. And then I remmebered on of my very first ideas for this story (you have know idea how hard it is going to be to put this together) and decided to incorporate that into this plot.

Much wailing and nashing of teeth is to come at my computer for the next little bit...but i haven't given up. I have a beginning and an ending to this story, all that remains is the bridgeing of the gap.

It might be a while until the next chapter comes though.
