How Do You Look?

There is a poll currently running in the forums asking how you guys search for stories and artwork, and how effective the results are. We would also like some constructive feedback and a wish-list of things you guys want in categories. So head on over and speak your mind!
I usually come across a story on the main page that's interesting, and I end up doing a search by author for more stories.
It would be great to see a link that takes you to the really good stuff. I know that 'good' is subjective, and many fics might get more or less thumbs up than they truely deserve, but I was searching this site for ages before I found The Children and The Children Book II, Pure Sith War.
It would be great if there was a link to the really epic stuff (but please leave out the soap opera KOTOR drama's!, or create a seperate link for them)
I would like to see more category choices such as Pre-Kotor/Mandalorian Wars or Post-KOTOR II. I also agree with KnightoftheWord and think epic stories (maybe 80k words or more) should get their own category designation.

My story is similar to that of Jae Onasi. I stumbled (fortunately!) across this site and spent the next hour clicking on whatever main-page story caught my fancy. As grammar (and spelling) is a peeve of mine, those that are well-organized and well-written held my attention and led to an author search.
Perhaps you could organize a section with seasoned (more than three stories?) authors.
