Ambush

Note from the Author: This story takes place in the Mandalorian Wars. Yes I know, it sounds like it should be part of series, but it's not. It's just something I did when I was bored one afternoon. Sorry I had to pull it back to edit the teaser.

Dxun...

We've had to pull back our troops, the Mandalorian defense is too strong and their snipers are hidden on the cliffs. We called in for air support but the ships were shot down immediately, what's worse is that the Jedi haven't arrived yet. This jungle is swarming with beasts and we've lost 13 of our men to them, only 7 of us remain. The Mandalorians have found some stealth gear and they could ambush us any minute, I don't like this. We've set up our camp and our supplies should last us about 5 days.

"Sir we've just got word from HQ that the Jedi is on his way and should arrive in 3 minutes."

"That's the best news we've heard in weeks. Corporal, I need you to go on patrol, take a soldier with you, we can't risk the Mandalorians finding our camp." I answered the corporal.

"Yes sir." The Corporal answered and hurried off to get his gear. I noticed something move just within the foliage, It was... Oh no...

"Ambush!" I yelled at the top of my lungs. "Take cover!" Blaster shots were everywhere. The Mandalorians had found our camp. It was too late to retreat. I yelled commands at my men, just hoping we would survive this battle.

"HQ, this is Recon 6, we've been ambushed by a squad of Mandalorian commandos, we can't hold them off much longer!"

"Copy Recon 6 this is HQ, hold them off for just a while longer, General Talir should be there any minute now."

"There are too many of them!" I yelled into comm. "We're going to have to-" The line went dead.

Republic Command Center...

"Recon 6 this is HQ do you copy?" Nothing. The commander sighed. He couldn't lose those men or they would have to pull a full retreat off the moon.

Dxun...

Suddenly a lightsaber hummed to life somewhere behind the knocked out captain and his troops.

"Concentrate all your fire on the Jedi!" The Mandalorian captain yelled to his troops.

"Yes sir!" The Mandalorian commandos obeyed. They fired round after round of blaster fire at the Jedi. The Jedi deflected them with ease sending two blaster shots back at two Mandalorian commandos who fell on the ground, dead. The Jedi's lightsaber was a magnificent green with an Onderon styled hilt. The Jedi did a Force jump to the Mandalorians and sliced 3 of them in half with a single blow. Next came the captain who fell on the ground, dead.

General Talir deactivated his lightsaber and looked at the exhausted Republic soldiers. This was going to be a long war...
